During an interview with VOA, a US State Department spokeswoman said that Albania and several other Balkan countries would benefit from US military assistance to Ukraine and its partners.
Secretaries Antony Blinken and Lloyd Austin announced the day before that out of $ 713 million in military aid, about $ 322 million has been earmarked for Ukraine itself, while $ 400 million in new foreign military funding has been earmarked for 15 other Central European countries and Eastern as well as the Balkans.
The spokesman added that this amount will help NATO allies meet their reserves affected by donations to Ukraine.
The rest of the $ 713 million package will provide defense items, training and services to the European region including Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia.
This amount will also benefit the Czech Republic and provide additional support to Bosnia and Herzegovina under the Russian Anti-Influence Fund.
