German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will pay a visit to the Western Balkans next week. Deutsche Welle reported that Pristina will be the first stop on Scholz’s tour of the Balkans on June 10.
According to the spokesman of the German Chancellor, Wolfgang Bichner, among other things, a visit is planned by Scholzi to the German KFOR troops in Kosovo.
Afterwards, he will travel to Greece at the invitation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, where he will meet in the evening with representatives of the countries of the regional initiative “South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP)”.
On June 11, the German Chancellor will leave for Northern Macedonia and then for Bulgaria.
According to a statement from the chancellor’s office, the focus of Scholz’s trip will be the European Union perspective of the Western Balkan countries, as well as Germany’s contribution to improving regional co-operation and overcoming bilateral blockades. In addition, the central theme will be the further joint response to Russian aggression against Ukraine.
