Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani joined U.S. President Joe Biden at the Ukraine summit in New York, held as part of the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week (#UNGA79). In a social media post, President Osmani expressed her honor at being invited by the White House to participate alongside global leaders in supporting Ukraine.
During the summit, President Biden highlighted the international effort to assist Ukraine, describing it as a critical moment for global unity. “You are not alone in this fight,” Biden assured in a joint statement with other world leaders, reinforcing the international community’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s recovery and rebuilding efforts.
The gathering was described as a “strong display of unity,” with more than 30 nations pledging their backing. The joint statement, shared by the White House, emphasized that Russia must pay for the damage caused during its invasion of Ukraine. The statement affirmed that Russia’s sovereign assets in international jurisdictions will remain frozen until the country ceases its aggression and compensates Ukraine for its losses.
