The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg.
Through a press release, it is added that Osmani stressed that Kosovo has met the criteria for visa liberalization, seeking the support of Austria for this issue but also for the process of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
“In the meeting, President Osmani discussed with Minister Schallenberg about Kosovo’s commitment to its European path. The President stressed that Kosovo has met the criteria for visa liberalization, so according to her, it’s up to the EU to keep its promise in relation to the people of Kosovo. The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani welcomed today in a meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg.
In the meeting, President Osmani discussed with Minister Schallenberg about Kosovo’s engagement on its European path.
The President stressed that Kosovo has met the criteria for visa liberalization, so according to her, it’s up to the EU to keep its promise in relation to the people of Kosovo.
In this context, President Osmani has sought Austrian support not only for this issue, but also for the process of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and other international organizations.
During the discussion on developments in relation to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, President Osmani stated that Kosovo’s position is fully in line with the EU, the US and all democratic countries.
As for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, President Osmani stressed that it should focus on mutual recognition.
“Kosovo is a constructive party in this process and the constitutional order, sovereignty and current borders are non-negotiable” said President Osmani.
The meeting also discussed interstate relations, in which the two sides expressed readiness to deepen, in the field of foreign policy, education, trade, and other areas of mutual interest.
