Today in Gjakove, the joint primer between Kosovo and Albania was inaugurated. This was done by Prime Minister Albin Kurti together with the Ministers of Education, Arberie Nagavci and Evis Kushi. It has been said that the Common Primer erases the borders between the two states.
With a solemn ceremony, the joint Kosovo-Albania Primer was inaugurated, with which all Albanian children will learn from this school year, wherever they live.
The unique primer will be used by both countries for toddlers in first grades in both Pristina and Tirana.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that the common primer between Kosovo and Albania is a continuation of the work of the former for the Albanian language.
He, at the inauguration ceremony of the primer in Gjakove, emphasized that the fate of the Albanian school was closely connected with the fate of the nation, according to him, the relationship between the language and the nation is historical.
“Through the language, the love for the nation has been taught correctly, today in the midst of equality and freedom, our nation is also united by this primer. A new Albanian generation is starting the path of knowledge with the unique common primer, thus materializing the inspiration inherited between generations that has always kept us connected. On days like these, we must remember the work and sacrifice of all patriots, intellectuals, albanologists, teachers, researchers, unreserved contributors, men and women who preserved the Albanian language in the most difficult times and preserved our common wealth. I am happy that today we have this primer in our hands, which we committed to with the joint agreement from the meeting of our two governments”, said Kurti.
The Albanian Minister of Education and Sports, Evis Kushi, on the occasion of the inauguration of the joint primer with Kosovo, said that it will erase the borders between Albania and Kosovo.
According to her, although everyone was skeptical that it could be done in eight months, they managed to bring the primer to life.
“I believe that one of the most beautiful works we have done, among all other works, is this primer. Our children will learn with the same text of the beautiful Albanian language. Many people were skeptical that within 8 months we would realize a new primer, but when there is good will and cooperation, nothing is impossible. A primer that is not only new, but also of better quality. This primer is not only the first book, but this primer will erase the borders between Albania and Kosovo. This is the book that will unite us more – because we are one nation, we have one language”.
The Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, has said that the inauguration of the joint Kosovo-Albania Primary School is a historic and special event for the Albanian nation.
“It is an honor for me today in this historic and special event for our nation. From the normal of Elbasan, to the normal of Gjakova, many patriots and intellectuals devoted their lives to the extension of the aspirations of the national renaissance and thus the unification of the Albanian language. Of course, without the foundations of the renaissance and subsequent patriots, today we certainly would not have our beautiful Albanian language, nor the primer, nor would we speak, as we are speaking today”.
The minister said that all Albanian children, wherever they learn, will have the same unique primer text.
“This agreement will be historic, because the children of the Republic of Albania, like Kosovo, and like all Albanian children, wherever they learn, will have the same unique primer text, which I wish will bring you luck health and prosperity, and be the basis for their successes in the future”.
Publishers of the joint Kosovo-Albania Primer are the publishing houses, “Dukagjini” in Kosovo and “Pegi” in Albania.
