Konjufca urges Athens to recognize Kosovo

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, has asked official Athens for Greece to recognize Kosovo.

He had a special meeting with his Greek counterpart, Constantine Tassoulas.

In a meeting with his Greek counterpart, the head of the Kosovo legislature presented him with a filigree work as a sign of deepening cooperation.

The Kosovar Speaker addressed the Greek Parliament with a speech. He said that peace, stability and democracy are essential and remain a precondition for this crisis not to provoke any fundamental change in our region and not to affect our liberal societies and democratic systems.

“We can solve all our problems by advancing in the process of EU membership and regional cooperation between our countries. “Everyone’s support, preceded by the recognition of Kosovo, should be seen as a strategic investment for the future, as a necessary step for maintaining peace and stability, but also for our common development,” said Konjufca.

Konjufca stressed that the unprovoked Russian occupation of Ukraine has the potential to exacerbate existing tensions in our region.

“Therefore, we must remain committed to European values ​​and with an unwavering partnership with NATO and the US, we can protect our region from serious destabilizing threats that could lead to fundamental changes in the international order,” he said. ai.

He called on the Greek government to support Kosovo’s efforts for visa liberalization, membership in the European Council, NATO and other international mechanisms.
