Albanian-speaking residents in Kentucky can now take their driver’s license test in their native language. The Kentucky State Police announced that Albanian has been added as one of the 34 available languages for the permit and driver’s license knowledge tests. This initiative aims to ensure that language barriers no longer hinder individuals from achieving safe and legal driving status in the state.
The addition of Albanian reflects Kentucky’s commitment to serving its increasingly diverse population. Applicants can choose their preferred language when taking the written tests, either online or in person at Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Driver Licensing Regional Offices.
This change comes as part of broader updates to streamline driver licensing services in Kentucky, focusing on inclusivity and accessibility. For Albanian Americans in the state, this development is a step forward in enhancing equal opportunities for all.
