In Tirana and Skopje, justice is sought for the 11-year-old raped

In the capitals of Albania and North Macedonia, Tirana and Skopje, justice was demanded on Wednesday for the 11-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by five people on August 27 in Pristina.

In these two cities, protests were also held against other cases of violence against girls and women.

During the protests, the cries “Don’t touch me”, Girls are the pride of a nation”, Punish the rapists”, “No means No”, “Zero tolerance to violence”, “Pedophiles in prison for life”, “Girls are not property” were heard. of no one”, “I screamed no”.

In Tirana, some were heard shouting “five men, seven hours, 11 years old”.

The protesters have demanded legal changes to take strict measures against the violators, but also to publish their names in public.

“We demand that states increase protection and security measures for girls and women and tougher punishments against those who exercise various forms of violence, the legalization and distribution of tear gas for self-defense, a registry of pedophiles, international conventions are respected, with special emphasis on that of Istanbul, training of professionals who work with victims, increasing awareness of forms of violence”, said the activist, Njomza Shaqiri in Skopje.

Protesters also demanded specialized services for all girls and women victims of violence.
