France to appoint Special Envoy for Western Balkans?

The number of special envoys for the Western Balkans is likely to increase rapidly.

After the European Union, the US, Germany and the UK, another one is likely to be appointed soon.

International sources have stated for RTKlive that the President of France, Emanuel Macron, has the possibility to appoint a special envoy for this region. The same has the possibility to be appointed in July, when France ends with the next EU presidency of.

Who the nominee will be has not yet been determined.

However, with his or her appointment, the number of such emissaries for the Western Balkans would increase to five.

The medium has sent questions to the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, to officially confirm such information.

However, despite the wait of several days, until the moment of publication of this news, no response has been returned.

Currently, the European Union has appointed a special envoy for the Western Balkans. He is Miroslav Lajcak who is in charge of mediating the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

The United States also has one. He is Gabriel Escobar.

Some time later, Germany also appointed Manuel Sarraz with the same task and before him, it was Great Britain that appointed Stuart Peach.
