Albanians dreaming of a direct flight from Tirana to New York can finally mark their calendars! Delta Airlines has officially sealed the deal and will launch its much-anticipated direct flights starting in the summer of 2026.

After months of negotiations, all legal procedures and security certifications have been completed, paving the way for Delta to become the first major U.S. carrier to connect Albania directly with the United States. According to a spokesperson from Tirana International Airport, Delta Airlines has conducted thorough market analysis and is fully committed to the new route.

This milestone marks a significant leap for Albania’s aviation sector, as the country anticipates welcoming a record-breaking 12 million passengers this year.
