The German government cabinet on Wednesday initiated the extension of the German army’s stay within the KFOR mission for another year, DW reported.
The federal parliament will consider this request in the coming weeks. The mandate stipulates that up to 400 German soldiers be sent to Kosovo.
Currently, according to information from the Federal Government, there are about 70 members of the German Armed Forces, Bundeswehr.
KFOR in Kosovo was deployed in 1999, when the war ended.
On June 11, 1999, the German Bundestag decided for the first time the German participation in the KFOR Force in Kosovo.
