The American ambassadors in Kosovo and Serbia, Jeffrey Hovenier and Christopher Hill, have welcomed the implementation of the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia on entry/exit documents.
This agreement between the two countries was reached under the mediation of the European Union on August 27.
According to her, Kosovo and Serbia have agreed to remove additional documents when citizens enter each other’s territory.
Ambassador Hovenier said that freedom of movement is essential for the normalization of relations, based on mutual recognition.
“I look forward to seeing progress on other issues in the coming months,” he said in a tweet.
Hill told reporters in Belgrade that the progress achieved between Kosovo and Serbia in the last 10 days is encouraging.
“I hope that agreements will continue to be reached, as is the case with personal documents, and that Kosovo and Serbia will have a much better future.”
Kosovo and Serbia have an agreement on free movement since 2011.
Serbia implemented it immediately and for 11 years has issued this type of document to the citizens of Kosovo.
