US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has expressed his condolences for the death of the former President of Albania, Bujar Nishani.
In a message published by the US Embassy in Tirana, Blinken praised Nishani’s contribution to strengthening relations between the United States of America and Albania.
“We share the pain of the Albanian people for the death of former President Bujar Nishani. “His contributions to US-Albania relations and our enduring partnership leave behind a lifelong legacy,” Blinken wrote.
Nishani died at a hospital in Germany, where he was sent a month ago, after his health deteriorated. Earlier, he was hospitalized in the Sanatorium in Tirana, but his serious lung condition forced his family to take him abroad.
