Prime Minister Albin Kurti met today with leaders of Swiss companies.
According to the government announcement, the focus of the talks during these meetings was the increase of investments and trade exchanges between Kosovo and Switzerland.
During a working lunch, Prime Minister Kurti highlighted positive economic indicators, democratic governance, rule of law, professional workforce and low operating costs as some of the reasons why Kosovo has serious potential for foreign investment. He also spoke about the special relationship between Kosovo and Switzerland thanks to the great Albanian diaspora there, and the plans and intentions of the government to make it an integral part of the country’s development. The companies represented at this working lunch were ABB Electrification, Amberg Group, Dr. “Borer Consulting, Capita Switzerland, COOP, Die Weltwoche, ManPower, Parashift, RepRisk / Forlam Ventures, Shcaffhauser Cantonalbank, SAP, Sunrise UPC and Sygnum Bank AG”, announced Kurti.
While, as it is announced, in the meeting with Asgar Brockmeyer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Stadler Rail Group, emphasizing the opportunities and potential for investment in Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the Government’s goal of building quality infrastructure that reduces travel time and cost for people and goods.
Also, regarding the integration of the region, the Prime Minister singled out the railway between Prishtina and Durrës in Albania. Dr. Brockmeyer emphasized the readiness of Stadler Rail to cooperate and exchange their expertise in railways with the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the ministry of the line. He announced that Stadler Rail representatives will soon visit Kosovo for further exchanges. In the meeting with the Chairman of the Board of SELISE (Secure Link Services AG), Kurt Weber, Prime Minister Kurti particularly emphasized the great and ever-increasing potential of young people engaged in the information technology sector. Prime Minister Kurti and Mr. Weber, signed a Letter of Intent, through which the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and SELISE, in writing, express their common interest in promoting doing business in Kosovo and supporting the Republic of Kosovo in the context of digital transformation.” it is said at the end.
