On the last Monday of the month, the third round for the election of the President of Albania will take place. The Conference of Presidents left the maximum deadline to negotiate between the parties to find a consensual candidacy, something that seems even more difficult as the parties are still discussing the procedure and not the candidacies.

May 30 will be the third round for the election of the President of the Republic of Albania. But even this time the majority and the opposition found consensus only on the date, not on the process, which was reflected in the meeting of the Conference of Presidents.

“We should take it seriously and there are no negotiations in front of cameras and televisions, this is not the issue, the issue is to make decisions,” said Mesila Doda.

“We should have submitted a candidacy yesterday and we should have submitted a candidacy in the third round. “If we do not lead a candidacy in the third round, we as the opposition should not be part of a process that is a farce”, declared Mediu.

Taulant Balla said that until May 30, the SP will not lead any candidacy, leaving this attribute to the opposition. But for the DP this is not an honest offer.

“They do not stand by the word, they do not stand by the agreement. They do not stand by what they themselves claimed. In this process it is like saying with the pistol on the table. “I have 71 votes, if you want to come, if you want not to come”, added Enkelejd Alibeaj, writes a2news. “If you call the negotiation process that you determine four and one of those four will be president, this is not a negotiation,” Balla replied.

The debates in the hall did not produce anything concrete and now the chances for a consensual president are increasingly reduced as the opposition does not seem to test the offer of the majority with candidacy while the SP is ready to open the envelope with the name of the President of the Republic of Albania for fourth round.
