The head of state, Vjosa Osmani, and the head of the government, Albin Kurti, have left for the USA to attend the funeral ceremony of the former secretary of state, Madeleine Albright.

A press release from the presidency states that Kurti and Osmani will hold other meetings in the American capital without giving further details.

At the invitation of the Albright family, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti traveled to the United States to attend the funeral of Kosovo’s great friend, former US Secretary of State , Madeleine Albright. “During their stay in Washington, they will hold other meetings,” the press release reads.

Former United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has died on March 23 at the age of 84.

For her contribution to the liberation of Kosovo, in 2019, on the 20th anniversary of the entry of NATO troops, a bust was unveiled in her honor in Pristina.

Also in 2019, Kosovo had decorated former Secretary Albright with the Order of Freedom.
