The Rapporteur of the European Parliament during a debate in the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Policy on the draft reports on Kosovo and Serbia, bluntly said that the current Government in Kosovo does not prioritize dialogue with Serbia.
“Unfortunately, despite the new energy with the appointment of the EU envoy for dialogue, I learn with despair that the facilitated dialogue between the EU and Serbia, which remains a precondition for Kosovo’s integration into the EU, is not a priority for the current Government,” said Von Crammon.
She added that dialogue should become a priority and Kosovo should benefit from the new momentum of US-EU cooperation.
“Dialogue should become a political priority and we do not want Kosovo to be seen by its key international partners as a less constructive party in the dialogue. Instead, we want to see Kosovo take a further step in concretizing the agreements reached on energy, vehicle license plates and missing persons.
“Kosovo must further use the new window of opportunity with its allies while there is full transatlantic cooperation for dialogue,” said the rapporteur.
