The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed today in his office and gave a bouquet of flowers to the Ukrainian journalist, Lyudmila Maket, who is the first to arrive in Kosovo as a result of the Russian occupation. Kurti stressed that she will remember that Maket and her colleagues have adequate working and living conditions in Kosovo.
Kurti said that Kosovo’s solidarity with the people of Ukraine is indisputable.
“I had the pleasure to welcome her to our country, Mrs. Lyudmila Makey, journalist from Ukraine. She is the first Ukrainian journalist to arrive in Kosovo after being forced to leave Ukraine after the Russian invasion. “Our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and the liberation struggle against Russian military aggression are indisputable,” Kurti wrote.
Kurti, in his note, also thanked the ECPMF, EFJ and the Association of Journalists of Kosovo for the cooperation in the program Journalists in Residence in Kosovo.
“The Republic of Kosovo has joined Western countries in imposing sanctions on Russia. We remain committed to working together with allies to contribute to lasting peace, long-term stability and regional and global security. We will take care that Mrs. “Makey and her colleagues that we will welcome, to have suitable conditions for work and living”, said Kurti.
Maket was welcomed at Prishtina Airport by representatives of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK).
