Today is the 23rd anniversary of the battle of Koshare, which took place on April 9, 1999 as part of Operation “Shigjeta”, between the Kosovo Liberation Army and the Yugoslav Army, where the Albanian-Albanian border was broken.

Under the patronage of the president was held the manifestation “Days of Albanian”, where Osmani paid tribute to the Memorial Complex in Koshare and then participated in the central manifestation in honor of the 23rd anniversary of this battle.

In her speech, President Osmani described this battle as one of the most important of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
“April 9 is a special day in the history of the Republic of Kosovo, marks the frontal war in the vast region of the border area of ​​Koshare in order to expel the Serbian occupying forces from the Albanian-Albanian border area and in order to liberate our country. This was one of the most glorious battles fought by the Kosovo Liberation Army,” she said.
April 9 in Kosovo is also marked as Constitution Day, for which Osmani said that many young people were sacrificed.
Leaders of political parties, as well as hundreds of citizens and families of martyrs paid tribute today.
