American Woman Moves to Albania for a Better Quality of Life

Share

Abigail, an American travel creator, made a bold decision to leave the U.S. and start a new chapter in Albania, a country she had never visited before. After traveling to six cities across the globe in 2023—including Copenhagen, Istanbul, and Paris—she realized the American dream no longer aligned with her vision for a better quality of life.

Abigail discovered Albania through a friend who shared information about the country’s one-year visa-free entry for U.S. citizens. Intrigued, she conducted research and fell in love with the affordable living costs, strong U.S. dollar, and Albania’s vibrant culture and community. Settling in Tirana, Abigail highlighted Albania’s walkable cities, excellent infrastructure, and its prime location for exploring Europe.

Initially considering Portugal, she decided against it due to visa delays and rising living costs. For Abigail, Albania offered everything she desired—warm people, delicious cuisine, and an underrated beauty she’s eager to share through her work as a travel creator. Albania, as Abigail now calls home, stands as her gateway to a more fulfilling and adventurous life.
