After intensive negotiations, the Government of Kosovo and the American Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) have finalized in Washington the Compact Agreement, worth 236.7 million US dollars. This agreement will help Kosovo to develop and become independent of the country’s energy system.
MCC has called this week productive, after conducting negotiations and reaching agreement.
“Today, MCC and the Government of Kosovo have finalized a productive week of negotiations regarding the $ 236.7 million proposal for the Compact Agreement, in order to strengthen the country’s energy sector and continue investing for a brighter future for Kosovars.” in a notice.
The Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli, who headed the Kosovo negotiation team, in an interview with VOA said that 202 million dollars are a grant from the MCC while the rest, about 35 million euros, co-financed by the Government of Kosovo. She said the program has two projects.
