The renowned Albanian folk group “Thesaret Labe” recently brought their melodious heritage to New York, captivating audiences with their traditional Lab songs. This visit marks a significant cultural exchange initiative by TV and the “Alba Life” Albanian schools, aiming to connect the Albanian diaspora with their roots.
At the heart of their tour were the “Alba Life” schools in Brooklyn and Bronx, where students and teachers alike welcomed them with enthusiasm. Their repertoire included soul-stirring pieces, such as a poignant song about Kosovo, showcasing the rich tapestry of Albanian folklore.
Further amplifying their cultural footprint, “Thesaret Labe” featured as special guests at the 31st Albanian Festival organized by the “Mother Teresa” Center at the “Lady of Shkodra” Church. This event, set against the grand backdrop of Purchase University, celebrated the 115th Anniversary of the Congress of Manastir.
The group’s visit also included a memorable engagement with the Albanian-American Association “Skënderbej,” where they were honored during a book promotion event. Their contribution to preserving and promoting Albanian folk music, recognized by UNESCO, earned them widespread appreciation.
Their tour culminated in an elegant event hosted by “Alba Life” TV and the Albanian schools at a prestigious media institution in Staten Island. Here, they were again honored for their invaluable role in nurturing the Albanian national heritage.
“Thesaret Labe’s” visit to New York, filled with music, recognition, and cultural sharing, not only celebrated Albanian traditions but also strengthened the ties of the Albanian community in the diaspora with their ancestral homeland.
