Two books titled “Scanderbeg” and “Iskander Soldier of the Cross” by author Halit Daci were launched at an event organized by the Albanian-American Association “Skënderbej” Inc. in New York. The event, commemorating Flag Day, was held at the “Bright Side” Adult Center in Queens and attended by association members, founders, representatives, and well-known personalities. The books, researched and written by retired Albanian military officer N/Col. Halit Daci, explore the life and legacy of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.
The event was marked by the presence of prominent figures and was adorned with red and black tables and symbols of the Albanian-American Association “Skënderbej”. It began with the national anthems of Albania, America, and the Republic of Kosovo, followed by a moment of silence for the latest national hero, Afrim Bunjaku. The moderator, Zylo, honored the family of the late Dalip Greca, former editor of the newspaper “Dielli”. The event also celebrated the approach of Albania’s Flag Day, with detailed presentations on Skanderbeg’s influence on Anglo-American literature, including dramas, poems, and ballads inspired by him.
The program included special guests from the well-known group “Thesaret Labe” from Albania, invited by TV and Albanian Schools “Alba Life”. The event highlighted Skanderbeg’s enduring impact on Western culture, as evidenced by the detailed research and writings of Halit Daci. It concluded with a variety of artistic performances, celebrating Albanian culture and heritage, and was recorded for future broadcast by TV “Alba Life”, New York.
