On August 24, 1913, the first issue of the newspaper “Perlindja e Shqipenies” appeared, a newspaper that supported the Government of Vlora led by Ismail Qemali. It called for the unification of the Albanian lands in a single state.

“Perlinda e Shqipenies” was the first newspaper of the independent Albanian state, it was published twice a week and continued to be published for 21 issues until 1914.

In its articles, among others, this newspaper called for the unification of the Albanian people.
