The well-known Albanian singer, Dua Lipa, has been declared Honorary Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo.
The news was announced by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, who shared some photos from the important moment on Facebook.
“Today, I gave Dua Lipa the title of Honorary Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, because she continues to honor our country in every step and every performance. I thanked him, on behalf of all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, for everything he has done and is making our voice heard everywhere in the world,” Osmani wrote on Facebook.
The president emphasized that she is using her voice and her extraordinary talent, not only to offer the world songs that leave a mark, but also to present the best image of Kosovo everywhere in the world.”
Dua Lipa is originally from Kosovo. She returned to perform in the third edition of the Festival that brought many big names of world music, but also local.
Before the official opening of the festival, in a press conference, Dua Lipa said that there is no better feeling than performing in Pristina.
The Sunny Hill Festival, which started on Thursday, will last until August 7 and this year, according to organizers, will be attended by over 25,000 people each day.
The first edition of the Sunny Hill Festival was held in 2018, while the 2020 edition was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
