An interethnic festival was held in Pristina in order to promote the cultures of all communities living in Kosovo.
In the “Zahir Pajaziti” square in Pristina, cultural and traditional elements were unveiled which identify or represent the Bosniak, Turkish, Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.
Artiola Babuni, project manager which was implemented by KosovaLive, said that this festival aims to get to know each other’s cultures and traditions better. Babuni said the aim of the project is to build trust in the other.
“What we wanted to show is to inform the citizens about the clothes, cultures and traditions that each of the communities in Kosovo represents and we thought that it is best for the participants who come from all communities in the project to come and come. they present those with whom their tradition and culture is identified” Babuni emphasized.
Hana Kaja, a volunteer from the Bosniak community, said that the young people learned about discrimination during the project, emphasizing that the first phase of the project was held in Prizren schools, while the second was organized in Fushe Kosove and Gjakova.
“We have implemented several projects in schools where we have shown and conveyed the message that we from communities, no matter how different we are, are the same” said Kaja.
