Albanian-American singer Enisa Nikaj has been honored by the New York City Council for her contributions to the city. Enisa, who resides in the United States, shared the news on social media, expressing her gratitude and reflecting on her heritage.

Despite being born and raised in New York, Enisa emphasized the importance of her Albanian roots. “My parents came to America from a small Albanian town in Montenegro with nothing. Even though I was born and raised in New York, they always made sure I never forget our culture and our Albanian roots from Tuzi, Montenegro. It’s amazing. Thank you to the City Council for this honor! Albanians and Montenegrins worldwide can be proud to be among the first to pave the way for the next generation,” she wrote.

Enisa is known for her unique vocal talent and a repertoire of songs that have earned her international acclaim, following in the footsteps of many other Albanian artists who have made a mark on the global stage.

Her recognition by the New York City Council is a testament to her hard work and dedication, not only to her music but also to her community and cultural heritage. This honor celebrates Enisa’s achievements and highlights the significant impact of the Albanian-American community in New York and beyond.
