A Gallup International Association survey conducted in 43 countries, including Kosovo, sheds light on global opinions regarding the upcoming U.S. Presidential Election, with a notable focus on the perspectives from the Western Balkans. If Kosovars were to cast a vote in the U.S. election, Kamala Harris would have a strong lead, with 55% expressing support for her, compared to 27% for Donald Trump, and 17% undecided or withholding their response. This preference aligns Kosovo with Western European nations where Harris generally enjoys higher popularity. However, when asked who they believe will ultimately win, Kosovars are evenly divided, with 46% predicting a victory for Harris and 46% for Trump.
The survey highlights how important this election is perceived to be for Kosovo. An overwhelming 79% of Kosovars stated that the U.S. election outcome will have a “high impact” on their country, placing Kosovo among the most highly engaged nations in the survey in terms of perceived impact. This result reflects Kosovo’s long-standing diplomatic relationship with the U.S. and the belief that changes in American leadership could influence the region’s stability and Kosovo’s future.
Internationally, the Gallup survey found that Kamala Harris is more popular in Latin America and Western Europe, while Trump garners stronger support in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. The global data reveals that 54% of respondents across all 43 countries would vote for Harris, while 26% prefer Trump. The election’s potential impact on America’s standing in the world and global stability also weighs heavily on respondents. Notably, 67% of survey participants believe the American election will have a “very high” or “high” impact on their own country, underscoring the worldwide significance of the election’s outcome.
