The American Congress has voted in favor of the Resolution on the case of the murder of the Bytyqi brothers.

This resolution demands that the persons responsible for the murder of Ylli, Agron and Mehmet Bytyqi in July 1999 should be brought to justice.

In the points summarized by the Congress, it is stated that the persons responsible for the murders in July 1999 of the citizens of the United States Ylli, Agron and Mehmet Bytyqi in Serbia should be brought to justice.

“It is reprehensible that no individual has ever been found guilty of executing the Bytyqi brothers, or of any other crime related to their deaths, and that no individual is even facing charges for these heinous crimes. The Government of Serbia and its relevant ministries and offices, including the Serbian War Crimes Prosecution, should make it a priority to investigate and prosecute as soon as possible those current or former officials believed to be responsible for the death theirs, directly or indirectly”, it is stated, among other things, in one of the points.

“The United States should allocate sufficient resources to fully assist and properly monitor the efforts of the Government of Serbia and its relevant ministries and offices to investigate and prosecute as soon as possible those individuals believed to be responsible. for their deaths, directly or indirectly. Progress in resolving this case, or the lack of it, should remain an important factor that determines the further development of relations between the United States and the Republic of Serbia”, the points continue.

This Resolution passed with 423 votes in favor, one against, while six others did not vote at all.
