Her dream has already come true. Katrina D’Onofrio managed to become a professional makeup artist with a lot of work and dedication. In a story for Atlantiku, she tells about the challenges towards her journey to become a professional in her commitment.

The 43-year-old from Shkodra feels good when every day she manages to transform a person into the best version of herself. This mission is what makes her happy and fulfilled.

“It is the most rewarding experience to transform my clients into the best version of themselves. Every day, I am blessed to make someone feel better about themselves and it gives me a purpose in this life. I love what I do,” Katrina says.

However, life in America is not easy, and the path to success requires a lot of dedication. But, Katrina says that by staying focused on her goal, she managed to start the commitment despite the challenges.

“Yes. Success certainly doesn’t come easy. It’s a lot of blood, sweat and tears, along with sacrifices to become successful or have a successful business. As long as you stay focused and driven, it’s you can succeed. Just never give up.”

Besides makeup, something that gets the 43-year-old’s attention is undoubtedly Albania, the country where Katrina’s mother is from.

Raised in an environment where her mother taught her about Albanian culture, today Katrina feels proud to promote Albanian culture, history, music and food.

“It is extremely important and special to me. My father was Irish American, but when my parents divorced when I was 4, my mother raised me as Albanian. It’s all I know and who I am. I am extremely proud to be Albanian and embrace our culture, food, music and history,” she says to Atlantiku.
