About 6 thousand students join Yale University every year. But the number of them who intend to join this elite educational institution is significantly higher, so is the competition. However, this did not pose a problem for Laura Dragusha from Kosovo to be accepted as a student at this university.

In an interview for Atlantiku, she has shown that the chances of being accepted were small, against the high number of candidates to join one of the most famous universities in the world.
However, the 18-year-old says that over the years she was engaged in various activities and work. She interrupted her studies for a year, but never stopped trying to continue them in such a university.

“Since the beginning of high school, I have been involved in various organizations as a volunteer to contribute to our community and in various activities such as debates. In addition, I have also worked in a company as a Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager. At the end of the 12th grade, I decided to take a year off, I continued to engage in such activities, including work,” says Dragusha for Atlantiku.

The 18-year-old from Prishtina is convinced that her continuous commitment helped her on the way to Yale University.

“This constant extracurricular commitment of mine, I believe, has exactly to do with the result of admission to an elite university like Yale University. Such an achievement is the culmination so far in my career, knowing that the chances of admission to Yale University have been very small due to the low percentage of student acceptance, thus the very high competition,” she says.

Laura has a message for all young people from Kosovo:

“I appeal to young people who dream of studying in such universities, to focus and give their best towards achieving this goal because it is a tangible and feasible achievement”.
