The second semester for the academic year 2022-2023 began with great success for the Albanian schools “Alba Life” that operates throughout New York and online.

All the teachers in the schools where they teach welcomed with love and respect the students and the parents who brought their children to the environments where the Albanian language is taught. After a short winter break and after the confirmation of receiving the permits from the Board of Education, they came full of freshness and vitality to sit in the classrooms of the school and take the relevant lessons about the Albanian language.

Although some of them, as the teachers in the Bronx informed us, such as teachers Mehrije, Kade and Merita, were absent due to viruses, seasonal flu, again the lesson started normally and full of professionalism. It was the same in other schools, such as in Queens where teacher Vjollca teaches, in Brooklyn by teachers Elida, Jonida and the head of the art program Gela, in Staten Island teachers Entela, Anxhela, Elona and in Online teacher Gresila.

It is a great pride when this program continues to run and grow constantly, which is the goal of this National Mission from Albanian Schools “Alba Life”.

Experienced teachers bring improved teaching practice to the classroom and expertly utilize tradition with contemporary tools. For example, I am only stopping at a class of teacher Kades, with older students in the Bronx, who, through her blackboard and computer, beautifully combines teaching to teach the students what is most necessary. This is how all the other teachers act with their plans that they have prepared to attract as many students as possible to learn the Albanian language.

The teachers and parents are clear that it is not easy to teach you the Albanian language since these children were born and are growing up in America, outside the homeland of their forefathers, therefore their first language is English, since at school where they only have this first official language.

All of the teachers I mentioned above are licensed by their home state and some of them in New York and this makes the lesson more interesting as they bring all their experience building on the knowledge base of the students and here in the classrooms. theirs. The students ended the first semester with a great activity, which took place in Staten Island at the first nursery of Alba Life. Soon they are preparing for the 15th Anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo, which we have celebrated and commemorated every year by respecting those who fell for Freedom and Independence, starting with the legendary Hero Adem Jashari. Then we will continue with the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Albanian TV and Schools “Alba Life”, on March 11, 2023, which will be a beautiful celebration for students, teachers, parents and the entire Albanian American community.

The students will have their own special program in this jubilee celebration and naturally the teachers have their own plans for the realization of this program.
