On behalf of the people of Kosovo, our traditional men’s clothing and ‘plis’ have been sent as a gift to the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, and a set of women’s clothing to the first lady, Jill Biden, with best wishes attached for the end of the year.
This is what the chairman of the “Friends of America” Association, Agim Rexhepi, announced today, who has shown that along with the clothes, he has sent some posters and postcards and a letter of thanks to Biden and his wife.
“Dear media, we inform you that a few days ago I sent to the address of the White House, Washington DC, a set of our national clothing for men with ‘plis’ and a set of our national clothing for women. I have not made the news public until today for security reasons and until I realized that the package has reached the USA. Along with the clothes, I sent some types of posters and postcards with the photo of President Joe Biden and some leaflets with our activities. Also, I sent him a letter of greeting and thanks for his actions towards us and congratulations on the end of the year holidays”, Rexhepi announced.
In the letter, among other things, it is written: Dear President Joe Biden, being eternally grateful for the many actions you have done for the state and my nation in the position of senator, vice president and now as president of the United States, and being grateful to the institutions of USA, for the end of the year I am sending you a gift from the first lady Mrs. Jill our national dress that has thousands of years of tradition. With these clothes, my Albanian ancestors worked, grew and developed and fought to protect the threshold of the house – the ancestral hearths from many aggressors.
The chairman of the “Friends of America” Association, Agim Rexhepi, emphasized that he sent the gifts to President Joe Biden and Mrs. Jill Biden along with a part of his soul.
“Dear President, I, as well as the members of my nation, are grateful for the resolution that you and the now deceased senator, John McCain, have initiated SJ 20. This resolution has been a great spiritual stimulation for my nation, at the same time this was the great message that we have the US strongly with us. Mr. President, we are sending you these gifts together with a part of our soul, with some posters featuring you and a cover letter, because you have proven that you are a personality that does not tolerate violence, segregation, murder and the exercise of terror and genocide to the oppressed peoples… My friends Isak and Ismet Islami brought my clothes as a gift.”, it is written further on the letter
