Former Supreme Commander of NATO during the Kosovo War, General (retired) Wesley Clark supported the candidacy of former Congressman Max Rose, who is running again for the US Congress
The Supreme Commander of NATO, General Clark, the Hero of Kosovo who put an end to the Balkan tyranny of Slobodan Milosevic, met today Sunday at the Staten restaurant in Staten Island with the Albanian American Diaspora.
General Clark was accompanied by his noble wife Gertrude Kingston. General Clark was awarded the “Hero of Kosovo” Order for acts of bravery for the Freedom and Independence of Kosovo. Under his supreme command, NATO troops intervened and ended the Serbian genocide, after Serbian soldiers with Slobodan killed thousands of Kosovar Albanian civilians and committed ethnic cleansing. General Clark was the commander-in-chief of NATO at the time of the intervention in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which began on March 24, 1999, and ended on June 10, 1999.
As an American citizen living in Staten Island and with the right to vote, the biggest reason I went was for the great respect, the boundless gratitude we have for General Clark who found himself in the darkest time for my Albanian brothers and sisters of Kosovo and bombed the Serbian Nazis with Slobodan Milosevic’s 7-headed kucedra.
The arrival of General Clark at the same time as the former presidential candidate of 2004 was to support the candidacy of the former American Congressman Max Rose who is running for the American Congress.
General Clark was received with thunderous applause from those present, and very excited and with tears in his eyes returned his greeting. His speech was heartbreaking and full of messages, especially when he talked about the war in Kosovo and its freedom.
In his speech in support of Max Rose, the candidate for the US Congress, he said: “We need patriots who are dedicated to service, as Max Rose was in office, whether in Afghanistan, where he served or in Congress, where he established the first working class in both Staten Island and Brooklyn. Max Rose has always stood up for what is right.
General Clark said Washington needs more leaders like Rose, a US Army combat veteran from the war in Afghanistan who previously served a term in Congress.
Congressional candidate Max Rose is up against Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, the 11th district which covers all of Staten Island and part of South Brooklyn.
In his speech, he said that Clark led the multinational coalition that ended the genocide against ethnic Albanians and showed the world how to stand up against tyranny in the name of justice. The Albanian American diaspora has never forgotten General Clark’s leadership and commitment to ensure their safety in the most difficult times. Wesley Clark is an example of living a life dedicated to service, Flag and country and that is what this campaign is all about.”
Max Rose promised that he will fight hard for the Albanian cause and will be a big supporter of it.
In the end, people lined up to take photos with the General and have a memory of their lives.
The activity was filmed by “Alba Life” TV, with founder and producer Qemal Zylo.
