On September 9th, 2024, Seton Hall student Nancy Kajo had the rare opportunity to speak at the United Nations Headquarters in New York during the “Mission of Albania: Fan Noli, Contributions of a Statesman to Multilateralism” conference. The event commemorated the 100th anniversary of Albania’s admission to the League of Nations and highlighted Fan S. Noli’s legacy as a scholar, diplomat, and national hero who promoted Albania’s cultural identity on the global stage.
Key figures attending the conference included Ervin Bushati, the Albanian Ambassador to the U.S., and author Ilir Konomi, among others. Nancy Kajo’s presentation focused on Professor Nick Pano’s paper, which explored Fan Noli’s profound contributions to Albanian independence, awakening, and his lasting impact on Albanian-American communities. This marked the second time Pano’s paper was presented in history.
Kajo expressed gratitude to her club advisor, Dr. Ines Murzaku, for making this momentous opportunity possible. The conference served as a tribute to Fan Noli’s multilateral influence, particularly his address at the League of Nations in 1921, which continues to inspire generations of Albanians worldwide.
