A Czech activist protested on Monday in front of the Serbian embassy in Prague.

Julie Levkova protested peacefully, after the situation that arose on Sunday in Kosovo.

The activist has placed inscriptions in front of the Serbian embassy such as “Kosovo is not Serbia, “Serbia stop attacking Kosovo”, Friends of Russia are not welcome” etc.

“I have some friends from the Balkans and I didn’t know many facts, but when the situation in Ukraine started, they were the first to react and support and then when we had a beer together and talked more about the political situation and they explained the history of the Balkans to me , especially I have friends from Bosnia and Albania, but he was born in the Czech Republic. I had some more information and I had this clear message that Serbia is the little Russia of the Balkans. When the border escalation started, I wanted to send a message that we we see what Serbia is doing and we do not believe in this denazification narrative because they are repeating history. I wanted to send a message that we do not agree with these narratives. I used the formulation that we don’t believe in this de-Nazification fairytale.  From what I read, I understood that Kosovo is under the protection of NATO and I think it is very good, but still I wanted to show Serbia that we do not agree with friendship with Russia. We see what they are doing and we want to keep it we invite Kosovo” – said Levkova.

In an interview given to Atlantiku.com, the activist from Prague showed the reactions of passers-by near the Serbian embassy in the Czech Republic.

“I was alone there and I was waiting for no one to join because I don’t have a big group of followers on Instagram and Facebook. When I started to look at the faces of tourists passing by, I saw that they were saying YES, we agree with you, well done. And some of them were taking pictures of me. Their faces were shining with happiness. They were really surprised that someone cared and it seemed to me that it made sense to do such a thing because even though I was standing alone I got a lot of attention from people passing by” – she added.

After this activity, she told Atlantiku.com that she was contacted by the Albanian community in the Czech Republic and they asked her to invite them to the next protests.
