A major disruption to the Cloudflare content distribution network is causing hundreds of websites to go down.
Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a group of worldwide distributors working in unison, providing fast content delivery online.
Websites use CDNs to protect themselves against threats and to provide content securely and as quickly as possible.
Cloudflare is the most popular content delivery network.
Affected websites include Discord, Shopify, Fitbit, Peloton, Grindr, Ring, bet365, Google, NordVPN, JustEat and Ladbrokes, according to Downdetector.
Cloudflare acknowledged the issue in a post on its official Twitter account.
“The Cloudflare team is aware of current service issues and is working to resolve them as soon as possible. Updates can be followed here” it is said in the announcement.
The message that usually appears in these cases is as in the picture below.
