The President of the European Council, Charles Michel in the joint press conference with Prime Minister Rama said that Albania has met all the conditions for the opening of negotiations for membership in the European Union.

The integration process needs to be given new energy through reforms, the EC chief said, so that it can be accelerated, without waiting for all conditions to be met.

“We need to give new energy to the integration process to create new incentives for reform and to accelerate the integration process. We are working to give concrete results. We are accelerating integration. “Albania has met all the conditions for the opening of membership negotiations and the talks should start as soon as possible”, said Michel.
