Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit Albania on Monday.

As Top-Channel reports, the reason for this visit is the 100th anniversary of Albania-US relations.

He comes at the invitation of the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla.

An activity is expected to take place in the presidency of the assembly from where Pompeo will be the keynote speaker.

During his stay in Tirana, former Secretary Pompeo will receive the honorary title of “Doctor Honoris Causa” from the University of Tirana.

Pompeo is an American politician, diplomat and businessman who served under President Donald Trump as director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 2017 to 2018 and as the 70th Secretary of State of the United States from 2018 to 2021.
