The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, met with the Major General of the Iowa National Guard, Benjamin Corell, as well as the members of the KSF who are staying for training in Iowa.
As Mehaj announced, Corell praised the contribution of Kosovar soldiers in peacekeeping missions in the Middle East, while Mehaj said that he and Kurti thanked him for the continuous cooperation and the fact that “the Republic of Kosovo is now seen as a reliable partner ready for reconnaissance with the Iowa National Guard ”in each mission.
The deployment of the KSF together with US troops on missions abroad, sheltering and assisting in the transportation of Afghan refugees, are elements of a cooperative state that embraces European values, as well as an important step towards the development of reform in the Army. of the Republic of Kosovo according to Euro-Atlantic standards ”.
Mehaj wrote that peacekeeping missions, the request for a permanent US military base in the Republic of Kosovo and the Government’s willingness to cooperate in the defense industry, are a clear message of Kosovo’s attitude towards its allies and the continued readiness that Kosovo has for it being a contributor to world security.
