The next meeting in the framework of the “Open Balkans” initiative will be held in June in Ohrid. The news was announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Through an Instagram post, Vucic announced that he had held a virtual meeting with the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama and the Macedonian Dimitar Kovacevski.

The Serbian president says that it has been agreed to hold a culinary fair, emphasizing that an agreement on cooperation in the field of culture and tourism will be signed in Ohrid.

The day before, the Rapporteur for Albania in the European Parliament, Isabel Santos, gave a “slap” to the initiative strongly promoted by Prime Minister Edi Rama, to the Open Balkans.

She said that the Open Balkans is an initiative outside the process of Albania’s EU membership. Santos stressed that the best path for the Balkans is through European partners and the accession process.
