Former PM Sali Berisha accused Friday US Ambassador Yuri Kim of intervening directly in the judicial process of the Democratic Party.
Berisha called on the US government to ‘stop their representative from intervening in Albanian judicial processes’.
“Last week I was told by two sources that recently governor Yuri Kim is doing meetings for judicial processes. I call on the government of the United States to stop its representatives from intervening in judicial processes in Albania”, Berisha said.
According to Berisha, the meetings of Ambassador Kim had the intention of intervening in the verdicts of the Court of Appeal.
“I had three sources tell me that Kim is intervening in court. If US authorities want evidence for that information, I will tell them everything”, he added.
The former DP head said that the intervention of the ambassador on the opposition is ‘ridiculous’.
“I say to her that the time when they tell the opposition how to play the game is over” he added.
The First Instance Court of Tirana recognized the Congress organized by Berisha, meanwhile DP’s acting leader Enkelejd Alibeaj has appealed the verdict at the Court of Appeal.
