The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the beginning of next week will travel to the United States of America, where I will attend the funeral of the great friend of Albanians, former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright.
The Office of the President has confirmed to the Telegraph that at the invitation of the Albright family, President Osmani will travel to the US early next week, to attend the funeral of former Secretary Albright.
“During her stay in the US, President Osmani will have several other meetings,” said the Presidency.
The great friend of Albanians, Madeleine Albright, died on March 23 at the age of 84.
She is praised for her great influence in convincing the United States and the world of the crimes being committed in Kosovo by the Serbian army and police.
Albright has visited Kosovo three times, a few months after the end of the war in 1999, in 2005 and 2019. In 2005, she delivered a speech in the Assembly of Kosovo, while in 2019, she was present at the erection of her bust in Pristina.
She was the first woman secretary of state to assist in directing Western foreign policy after the Cold War.
Her family has announced that Albright has died of cancer and that she was surrounded by family members at the last minute.
In honor of Kosovo’s great friend, Madeleine Albright, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani had declared March 24 a day of mourning in Kosovo.
