Emmanuel Macron will face Marine Le Pen in the second round of France’s presidential elections, projections show.

On Sunday, the French voted in the first round of the presidential election, and voters chose between 12 candidates.

According to the first polls after the closing of the polls, Macron received 28.1 percent of the vote, while Le Pen 23.3.

There were 48.7 million eligible voters.
