The leaders of Kosovo and Albania have strongly condemned what they said were evidence of the brutal killings of Ukrainian civilians by Russian troops.
Both have called for the world to hold Russia accountable for these events.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti said that the bodies found in Bucha remind him of the similar atrocities committed in the period 1998-1999 in the war between independent Albanian fighters and Serbian forces.
“Mass graves, brutally murdered people, and with missing body parts, burned houses and destroyed cities, are scenes known by genocidal regimes,” Kurti said in a Twitter post.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has said that the bodies that were found after the Russian soldiers left Bucha, near Kiev, are “shocking” and called for independent investigations “of these horrible crimes”.
“Nothing can justify this cruelty. What pain and what shame,” he also said on Twitter.

Both Kosovo and Albania have joined tough sanctions on Russia, which have been imposed by the United States and the European Union.
