Albania recorded a historic year for tourism in 2025, welcoming more than 12 million foreign visitors, the highest number ever registered in the country.
Officials say the figure marks a major milestone for Albania’s tourism sector and places the country ahead of much larger states such as Brazil, India and Argentina in terms of international tourist arrivals during the year.
The sharp increase is linked to Albania’s growing international profile, competitive prices, improved infrastructure and a wider promotion of the country as a year-round destination. Coastal tourism remained strong, while interest also increased in cultural sites, mountain regions and city breaks.
Tourism authorities note that visitor numbers are no longer limited to the summer season, with steady growth recorded throughout the year. The sector continues to be one of the strongest contributors to Albania’s economy, generating employment and boosting local businesses across the country.
