Robert Lulgjuraj, an Albanian-American prosecutor from Sterling Heights, Michigan, is officially running for U.S. Congress in Michigan’s 10th District as a Republican candidate in 2026.

His grandparents fled communist Albania in 1969 in search of freedom, working blue-collar jobs to support their family. Lulgjuraj was raised with strong Catholic values, attending local public schools before graduating from Brother Rice High School in 2011.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Liberal Studies from Holy Cross College in 2015, where he was elected Student Body President and studied abroad in Italy and Uganda. He later earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2020, where he led the Federalist Society and received honors in trial advocacy.

Lulgjuraj began his legal career as a prosecutor in Wayne County, handling over 2,000 criminal cases, including violent crimes, drug trafficking, domestic violence, financial crimes, and high-profile media cases. He currently serves as a prosecutor in the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

In 2023, he was selected as a Republican member of the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University, in recognition of his commitment to public service.

Lulgjuraj has also been active in the local community, serving on the Sterling Heights Ethnic Community Committee since 2015 and as Chairman of the Macomb County Young Republicans from 2016–2017.
