Kosovar boxer Donjeta Sadiku has once again made her nation proud by claiming the gold medal at the World Boxing Federation Cup “Feliks Stamm”, which concluded on Friday in Warsaw, Poland.
Competing in the 60kg category, Sadiku was crowned champion after defeating Elise Glynn of Great Britain in a highly competitive final. While the first round was evenly matched—with three judges favoring Glynn and two supporting Sadiku—the Kosovar star dominated the second and third rounds, securing a 5:0 unanimous victory.
Despite Glynn having the height advantage, Donjeta demonstrated superior skill and strategy, controlling the fight and avoiding any trouble throughout the match.
This triumph adds another significant medal to Sadiku’s impressive resume, which already includes accolades from both World and European Championships. Her ultimate goal remains clear: a medal at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. She has previously competed in the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, but narrowly missed out on a podium finish.
In Warsaw, Sadiku fought three matches to claim gold. She defeated Aleksandra Jankowiak of Poland in the quarterfinals, followed by a dominant win against Italian Olympian Rebecca Nicoli in the semifinals—both by a 5:0 score.
The “Feliks Stamm” Cup is recognized by World Boxing, the new global amateur boxing federation backed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Kosovo’s Boxing Federation has joined World Boxing after leaving the Russian-influenced IBA (formerly AIBA), which is no longer recognized by the IOC.
