Over 20,000 Albanian-Americans Registered to Vote in Albania’s 2025 Elections

Share

Over 20,000 Albanian-Americans have already registered to vote in Albania’s upcoming May 11, 2025 elections, marking a historic moment for the diaspora. According to the latest data, the United States ranks fourth among the countries with the highest number of registered Albanian voters abroad, with 20,653 people signed up, making up 8.4% of total registrations. This is a significant step in ensuring that Albanians living overseas have a say in the country’s future.

Now that registration has closed, those who successfully signed up will soon receive their ballot and voting instructions from the Central Election Commission (KQZ) at the address they provided. Voting will take place by mail, with the KQZ covering all postal costs.

Once voters receive their ballot, they must fill it out following the provided instructions, selecting their preferred political party and/or candidate. The completed ballot must then be sent back via postal service to the KQZ, ensuring it arrives no later than 19:00 on May 11, 2025.
