Pranvera Hyseni, the Albanian astronomer from Kosovo, is set to embark on a prestigious mission with the support of NASA and the University of California. On February 13, she announced that she will travel to the middle of the Pacific Ocean to operate a 4-meter telescope at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level, where she will study asteroids and gather crucial data about the Solar System.
“This journey, funded by NASA and the University of California, is the realization of a dream I have pursued for years. After countless nights of dedication and scientific research, the time has finally come for this challenge” she wrote in her announcement.
On February 17, marking Kosovo’s Independence Day, Hyseni shared another emotional post expressing her pride in representing Kosovo on such a significant occasion.
“I feel incredibly proud to represent Kosovo on Independence Day at one of the world’s most powerful observatory summits in the Pacific, with financial support from NASA. Happy Independence Day! 🇽🇰 Let’s celebrate with pride and take Kosovo even higher” she said on a Facebook post.
